Hello everyone and welcome to my TechTools Wiki. I created this wiki to comply with Project 3 of my EDTC 6340 class.
Educational Purpose of Wiki
The Educational Purpose of my wiki is to allow students, teachers, and everyone else to view some of my technology oriented projects that I have created through my Educational Technology Masters Degree program. These projects will hopefully offer students and teachers different ideas on how to integrate more technology into the classroom. This wiki will also provide users with project activities and links to different classroom technology integration ideas.
The intended audience for my wiki is very broad - students, teachers, professors and any other type of user that is closely associated to the classroom or educational field and wants to be more informed about technology in education.
The subject area for my wiki is Educational Technology.
*Note: I selected Educational Technology because it can branch out into many different areas of technology. For example, technology integration in the classroom, technology use in the classroom (centers, whole group instruction, teacher use, individual student use), technology use (presentations, teaching, lesson guidance, internet use), personal use of technology (surfing the web, email, music downloads, movie downloads, chatting, blogging, social networking sites, shopping) and technology in the work area (communication, presentations, email, file sharing, video conferencing).
The objectives for this wiki are to help other students and myself to become more familiar with Web 2.0 Tools that are readily available on the net. These tools will allow users to say and publish "almost" anything online. These web application tools also allow students, teachers and users to upload their own personal opinions, interact with others and explore other avenues of learning. My wiki will also provide a broad variety of ideas and projects geared towards technology integration in the classroom.
The method of assessing my wiki will be by viewing and collecting the student's, teacher's, professor's and other user's comments of how useful and/or helpful my wiki is. I will also assess my wiki by accepting constructive criticism. By taking that criticism I will be able to use it to better plan the layout, resources, projects and tools of my wiki.
